Meet the Baker

HI! I am Miriam, the creative heart, baker, cake decorator and owner.

I am a Food Technologist and worked as a Food Quality Control Supervisor in my home country (Peru).

Growing up, I was surrounded by the best treats and baked goodies around, all homemade by my Mom, Grandma and Aunts, but my well-known baking skill was making Alfajores.

At a very young age, I started baking Alfajores along with my Mom. Later, it became my best outlet after long working hours. No doubts, My passion for baking had taken hold.

It wasn’t until after I moved to the USA in 2007 that I was able to embark upon baking and cake decorating. It was while I was living in Northern Virginia when the first opportunity to make a cake came along. I was working as a nanny, and when the baby girl turned 1, without any experience, with bravado, I made her birthday cake.

A couple of years later, I took my first official decoration class at the local crafting store. Since that first class, proven tenacity, coupled with inherent passion and zest to continuously improve, I started my Second Career in baking from scratch.

Combining and treasuring recipes passed down from my mom (Elsa), mother-in-law(Karen) and extended family, I have continued that love by expanding my knowledge and experience in decorating, design, and techniques, mastering many of them with truly talented and awesome teachers.

After we moved to Austin in 2016, following my entrepreneur spirit and as sole employee, MVP Krafts was born to keep pushing my boundaries of creativity and baking the best treats for all seasons and all reasons.
